Spectrum is a holistic education centre which combines formal education with individual treatment for children with special needs.

At Spectrum, we strongly believe that each child is a unique individual with its strengths and weaknesses. Our role is to understand or probe (PROBING) for the child’s inner potential and to match (MATCHING) our touch, approach, treatment and program with each child’s needs. We hope by probing intensely and matching with the right and proper education and treatment we can help the child to actualize his/her potentials.

Why Spectrum? In line with the meaning of the word Spectrum, lights that are spread into several layers of colors like rainbow, illustrating that Spectrum children have different levels and stages of emotion, intelligence, and personality as well as their physical and mental conditions showing the multi colors inside them just like a rainbow. Rainbow comes with various colors however it offers warmth and feelings to whomever. This is our analogy to Spectrum Children who come with a mixture of characteristics, however with the right and proper education we hope to see them grow showing their individual colors and the inner potential they own.

SPECTRUM EDUCATION attempts to provide caring guidance, education, and facility aiming at developing children holistically and uniquely without focusing only on academic achievement. Children success is measured by how they able to optimize their inner potentials, interests and abilities. Moreover, children independence and life skills are the main targets for children who are pursuing Spectrum Education.

However, we can’t forget one important thing. Success of children is eighty percent (80%) dependent on parents, families, caregivers support and commitment. Therefore, working as a team, holding hands together, sharing the same vision, goals and with high motivation, efforts, time, compassion and strong believe, we hope to bring the children with their potentials to their future.

Warm regards,

Children with delayed development or emotional problems need to be treated comprehensively by professionals.

Spectrum has been providing these children with therapy and sosialization class, however it was not enought. Besides therapy and socialization, these children need formal education that could bring them to face the real world using their skills and potentials.

Therapy and education are interventions that could not be separated. The application of education in Spectrum are using a holistic method with theraupeutic approach.

With this special approach we hope to facilitate the development of practical knowledge and skills of our children to enable them to achieve and provide for themselves and their communities.

Sincerely yours

In the ”World of Spectrum Education” being a Role Model is very important. As a teacher, therapist, caregiver or other staff in Spectrum we believe by projecting good behavior and attitude will help children to imitate good behavior and attitude because children like to imitate through what they hear, see and feel.

With regards to the importance of being a Role Model, Spectrum has a set of basic principles that guide our behavior in day today. These guiding principles are simple and practical, however consistent application of the principles will resulted in huge positive impact on the relationship between teachers, therapist, children/students, parents and other people in Spectrum.

The Spectrum Guiding Principles are…

Focusing on problem solving.

This principle is focusing on being objective when looking at a problem, trying to solve the problem by maintaining a clear and open mind to continuously develop our students/children.

Maintaining constructive relationship with other people.

We believe by maintaining contructive relationship among Spectrum employees, students/children, parents, other people who work together to develop our children will create an open atmosphere, high motivation and caring environment.

”Working with Your Heart”, showing empathy and caring.

Having high awareness of what is going on, sensitive to others, working sincerely with patience will certainly give postive impact on children development.

Respecting other people to maintain their self esteem and confidence.

We believe by respecting other people will create an atmosphere of respecting each other.

Taking initiative to continuously improve the quality of Spectrum’s services.

In other words, ”compete with each other to give the very best.”

Becoming a Role Model to others

As Spectrum leaders, we are Role Models through our attitude, words, voice and behavior.

Warm regards,

Dra. Psi. Sandra Talogo, M.Sc
